Weather4D and the unable-to-route syndrome

Yachtmen my friends, Many of you still encounter difficulties with the subtleties of the routing function in Weather4D, despite the pages dedicated to routing errors in both user manuals (¹), which are accessible from the application by tapping on the symbol “ ? » located in the upper right ribbon. But don't panic !

Some time ago, I put together an instructional video covering ALL the settings that could cause difficulties.. It has been available since September Facebook group of Weather4D users, that you can usefully join, and also by these two links : Youtube or Vimeo.

Hopefully this will save you the hassle of getting "Impossible to route" or "Partial routing" messages.

  1. Thank you Francis for this recipe ! It’s true that ad hoc settings make all the difference

    1. In particular the fleece of the boat which, simply enter from iPolar, is very, very far from reality. !

    2. iPolar is useful for a good number of monohulls whose polars have never existed or cannot be found. But it is true that this sometimes requires adjustments and/or corrections. As an example, the fleece of my Amphora Wauquiez, once adjusted the efficiency to 85%, gives me complete satisfaction. This also makes it possible to correct certain erroneous values over time., without having to start from a blank sheet which is a mission impossible. Of course, for cruising and regattas, architect fleeces are essential, or even those of the’ORC.

  2. thank you for these explanations on the other hand I have a catamaran (looping 56) I have difficulty finding the right polar fleeces and ipolar only makes monoque ones . Do you have a solution to offer me? ?
    thanks in advance
