Reading : "Magellan's Voyage 1519-1522 " published by Editions Chandeigne

For this time I am introducing you to a book that I have just ordered, so not yet read, seduced as I was by The dithyrambic article from Olivier Chapuis on his webblog.

I have pleasure to send you read it and leave you alone judges. There you go 1088 pages that will occupy my next days at sea !

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all !

[Update September 25 February 2011] Reading finally completed, I was not disappointed ! This historical relationship, highlighted by an in-depth study of the texts collected on this journey, gives you an idea of the incredible adventure accomplished on ships of modest size, heavily loaded, in a promiscuity that we could not imagine today.

Captain-General Fernand de Magellan led his crews in a maritime conquest, motivated by the "spice war" that the Spanish and Portuguese were then waging, very few of whom will manage to complete this first round-the-world trip in known history. A great moment of reading !
