InavX adopts Imray charts

With the latest version 5.6.35 from February the 25 th last September, iNavX integrates Imray charting offered by its supplier SiiTech (¹). NavX Studios does not hesitate to announce in its communication :

As the leading publisher of nautical information for leisure sailors, Imray joins iNavX, making us the first mobile navigation platform to offer and support these trusted charts..”

Catalogs

iNavX offers a division into 8 areas, practically the same as those provided by Geogarage for Weather4D and SailGrib :

  • Imray North Sea
  • Imray English Channel
  • Imray West Britain & Ireland
  • Imray France, Atlantic, Iberia & Atlantic Islands
  • Imray Western Mediterranean
  • Imray Central Mediterranean
  • Imray Eastern Mediterranean
  • Imray Eastern Caribbean
Couverture Atlantique des Scilly aux Canaries et aux Açores avec France, Espagne, Portugal.

Atlantic coverage from Scilly to the Canary Islands and the Azores with France, Spain, Portugal.

Pricing

All catalogues are at the same price, thus 80 € /year for authorized use on 4 devices with the same iNavX account. You should be aware that these are in-app purchases subject to Apple Store fees.

For comparison, charts catalogues subscribed to Geogarage are at 72 € /year. These are not in-app purchases but user licenses. They have been offered since April 2020 !

These Imray charts are an alternative for iNavX in terms of catalogs Professional+ covering some regions at very high prices, particularly in the Mediterranean, but also a way to fill the lack of charts for the Caribbean.

Concerning the Professional+ charts, it's disappointing to note that the display faults I pointed out in November 2023 – no island names and non-compliant beaconing – have still not been corrected in the latest August 2024 update for France, and September 2024 for the British Isles.
