ShipModul company informs us of an important change in the design of the MiniPlex-3 all versions (Wi/N2K/E). Its founder explains :
Due to the ongoing shortage of the microcontroller we used for years in our MiniPlex, We had to make a redesign using a new microcontroller.. The new microcontroller (ARM) is not compatible with the old one (APR), so we had to port the existing code to the new microcontroller, which results in a new firmware image file (firmware).
To prevent confusion for our users, we developed a new MiniPlex firmware file format which can now contain multiple firmware images, so the user doesn't need to know which microcontroller his MiniPlex has and which firmware file to download. MPXConfig3 will detect the hardware ID of the connected MiniPlex and selects the right firmware image from the file..
The Latest Version of the MPXConfig3 Utility (V3.13.0) supports this new firmware file format. Older versions will not and thus output the message "Firmware file not supported"."
It is therefore imperative to download the latest version of MPXConfig3 on Windows to perform firmware updates and settings, regardless of the device purchased and its date of manufacture.
Meindert Sprang continues :
All of this has to be added to the next macOS release [Under development]. Warning : anyone who now buys a new MiniPlex (with the ARM), cannot downgrade to firmware 2.3.17 because this doesn't exist for the ARM version. Updating MPXConfig3 for macOS now has our highest priority."
It is therefore no longer possible to use the old MPXConfig3 version for macOS until the development has been completed.. In the meantime, in the absence of a PC on hand, we can still install Windows 11 ARM (Beta) on a virtual disk.

Bonjour,
I had a lot of disconnection from the wifi this summer as well, especially when the Miniplex was connected in NMEA2000.. It was still working (sentences visible via MPXConfig3), but the wifi module was no longer responding. Only solution, restart. I tried with several firmware, same result.
Connection NMEA2000 removed the Shipmodule was much more stable, but the wifi module sometimes lost connection once a 24 hours.
I exchanged emails with the device manufacturer, very nice. He has recognized the problem and is looking into it (I sent him logs), but no news since.
Reading these comments I am not the only one to encounter this kind of problem (first time since 4 years of use, but also the first time with NMEA2000 connected.), and I would like to post my experience, hoping to move the problem forward.
Hello Francis,
Wouldn't it be the same problem that I told you about and that we systematically encounter when crossing the Channel just before the exit of the Traffic Zone? ? after several hours, repeated loss of information on the iPad, You have to either reboot or sometimes only disable/reactivate the wifi…
See you soon
Indeed Catherine, it is very likely. Same answer as below to Francis.
Thank you Francis for all this information..
A few years ago, you set me up a Wifi MiniPlex in. ST Vaast..
This summer , I regularly lost the Wi-Fi signal.. (usually after 3 up to 4 h of use.. And obviously preferably at important moments (Murphy's Law?)..only solution found.. cut the instruments and restart ! The problem not being due to the iPad (I have two iPads with the same problem at the same time.)
A firmware update. when it is. mac OS compatible is it the solution ? or should I think about a renewal?
Otherwise in spring. ? you are on Saint Vaast ?
Thank you for everything you do
regards
François
It would indeed be necessary to update the firmware and the WiFi module, the most recent version of which has been 1.5.0.3R3 for several years.
This should solve your problem, especially that your configuration (the most complex I've ever made !) conveys a large flow of data.
Possibly, you could send it to me, I will make the updates and return it to you. For 50 € + Colissimo Tracking. I do this regularly for some clients.
